Marathon Training begins today!

  • Wooo Hoooo.  Today marks the end of my recovery being lazy and eating bad period.  It is the beginning of my marathon training and my winter running period.

I will be training for a New Years Eve run that is not being held on New Years Eve this year. 🙁  For 2 years now, I have ran the “Yukon Do It” 1/2 marathon.  I love this race, because they hold it on the morning of 12/31/13.  This year, for safety reason, they had to move it to 12/29/13.  When I asked the Race Director about it (on their Facebook Page) – The reply was that they had a couple close calls last year, and that the city will not allow them to close roads on a weekday.

I understand safety, but I was still kind of bummed out.  I love that my last race of the year was on the last day of the year.  That’s ok – this is an incredible course, and a well organized even.  I am looking forward to it.  This year, as last, my intent is to run the full.

One of my favorite pics from last year.
