I have finally built my running back up to double digits! It has been so long since I have done a double digit run, I can’t even remember when it was. I know it’s been at least 2 months, and probably 3 or 4.
There is something about doing a training run that is 10+ miles long that makes me feel amazing. I still remember when I could not run 1 mile on a treadmill (that was only 2 years ago). I can’t believe that I am able to run 10 miles and then go to work the next day.
The thing that stood out for me in this run is that I did a 20 mile bike ride first. Granted, I didn’t push it hard on the bike, but I still rode 20 miles. I had only about 10 minutes in between the bike and the run but my heart rate still only averaged 141 beats per minute AT AN AVERAGE PACE OF 8:38!!!
An 8:38 pace in my Half Ironman race will give me a sub 2 hour 1/2 marathon. I will be very happy with that. We shall see.
I also liked the elevation profile of this run. Just a few gentle rollers, but I really like how this graph looks. I think it’s also a testament to how accurate the elevation feature of my new Garmin 910 xt is.
It’s good to be back!
