Well sort of. First of all – since you are probably new to triathlons, you are probably wondering what a “brick” is. It is a bike workout, followed immediately by a run workout. The point is, you train your body so it will know what to expect on race day.
The reason I say I “sort of” did my first brick was because I did a 60 minute spin class, followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill @ a 10:00 min per mile pace. I don’t think the feeling is quite the same as what I will feel when I ride a road bike for an hour, then follow that with an immediate run. I did feel very accomplished though, and it didn’t hurt as much as I expected.
I have heard it called a brick because supposedly you feel like there are bricks tied to your feet. I did not experience that.
